No Hay Dias Malos - Postcard Design

These postcard designs were inspired by my recent visit to Cabo with my family.
Although a hurricane came through and created cloudy skies for a few day, we had “no bad days” (this areas slogan rang so true). My hope with these postcards was to reflect the brightness in the culture, art, buildings, flags, food, water and even in the sunset. I felt the best way to showcase how it felt to me was drawing in an almost blocked method to show the purity of the colors. I layered with shadow and highlights to reflect depth and bring the viewer into the scene. Focusing on the more prominent earthy tones I was hoping to reflect the deep connection with the land and add cohesion in the design. This allowed me to then accent it with bright colors to make the colors pop just like they do in real life.
The text I chose was called “bubbly drink” which spoke to the laid back response you find in Cabo.
When the coconuts fall, make a fantastic drink.
