After serving time in the U.S. Army I found that I needed to go back to my roots. I have always had a passion for art. In high school, I was in a special Commercial Arts program that took most of my day. Young and naive, I changed career paths and sought a career in the medical field. I was good at my job but found no real joy in what I did. I was always drawn back to design. Friends would ask for help, coworkers would task me to the creative work. One day, a friend who was having me create a logo for her website, said to me "Why aren't you getting paid for this?" So the next week, I enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
So I got my Bachelor's (with honors!) in Graphic Design, while getting my degree, I pursued freelance work in photography, digital photo restoration and graphic design. Once I had my degree I jumped into the field and found myself in print design. Signs, doors, direct mail, business cards, brochures, cards logos, ect... I am a quick learner, have an eye for detail and enjoy working with a team or alone. I think design is in everything and everything is designed. I would like to be one of the designers.
