Through the master studies at IT Product Design that focus on user-centered design research, interaction and user experience design I have build even closer relations between products and use. I have gained knowledge about the development of products, services, engineering and business relationships without losing the focus on people. Working in multidisciplinary and international teams of students I was confronted with diffuse problem areas, in which the relationship between humans and technology plays a dominant role. I have extensive experience in conducting qualitative research such as interviews, focus groups and field work observations, including the analysis. I have facilitated workshops and developed visual and tangible means of communication to engage multiple stakeholders. In parallel, I have gained high skills in provotyping and prototyping, participatory innovation, design anthropology and writing and I see these skills being beneficial to your team.
I have participated in multiple user research projects such as improving the suitability of user-centered design methods in Finnish well fare and tourism industry. I have also experience in working in multicultural environments. In Summer 2011 I worked as a user researcher and strategic designer at INDI Design that is a design consultancy in Pune, India. My role consisted of developing participatory and user experience design processes for their projects. There I worked, for example, with the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM, the business magazine Forbes and on interface development projects. This spring I did also an interaction and user experience design internship at Siemens Healthcare in Germany.
I did my master thesis project with Bang & Olufsen that is about developing gesture-based interfaces. My research was about developing qualified social interaction for gesture-based systems and exploring what is socially acceptable when using gestures for controlling the interface. It is based on a user-centric process by involving multiple methods and tools.
