Andrew Cochrane

Andrew is Project Curator at the British Museum.



He has been an archaeologist at the Museum of London Archaeology, and a Research Associate at the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures, and the School of Oriental and African Studies studying imagery from both the contemporary world and prehistory.



Andrew was the Project Curator for the 'unearthed' exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in 2010, and World Art Fellow at the University of East Anglia. He was a Consultant Curator and Researcher for 'The Power of Dogu' exhibition at the British Museum in 2009. He obtained his PhD in 2007, researching imagery from prehistoric Europe, and was an Associate Lecturer at Cardiff University between 2007 - 2008, teaching Human Origins, Archaeology with Visual Culture, and British Prehistory.



For the last six years, he has used artistic practice to express archaeological thought, exhibiting works across the world. He is the co-author of Visualizing Archaeologies: A Manifesto with Dr. Ian Russell
