Whether developing ideas or objects, a designer’s greatest strength is his ability to ask questions, challenge assumptions, foresee limitations and answer unknowns. My goal as a designer is to identify the fundamental essence of a need, and develop a solution that is both functionally and aesthetically compelling.
For nearly ten years, I’ve honed my design and creative direction skills working on projects ranging from the industrial design of upscale grills and furniture, to elaborate brand signage and engaging retail spaces. A professional constant in each of these roles has been my unrelenting passion for well-conceived, smartly executed design that incites interaction and drives market demand.
My professional experiences have allowed me the opportunity to successfully provide design solutions and business value to executive leaders, sales staff, marketers and customers. Hands-on collaboration with engineers and craftsman has also strengthened my prototyping abilities, mechanical aptitude and detailed management of large scale projects, allowing me to better guide design function and aesthetics from start to finish.
I’ve been fortunate to have learned design principles from innovators who made this craft their life and legacy. I hope to have a similarly positive impact on the field throughout my career. At this professional stage, I want to move beyond status-quo projects and work with peers and clients who value the impact design thinking and its implementation has on industry and experiences.
In my off-time, I nurture my creativity and curiosity through new technology and user design interactions, sketching, reading, studying materials by design legends and peers, musing about motorcycles and planes, exploring art galleries, traveling, experimenting with new materials, as well as sailing, biking, running and cooking.
