Hello, my name is Andrew and for as long as I can remember I've loved the creative problem solving and the sense of accomplishment that comes from designing and building. I particularly enjoy well-designed, yet simple solutions to common problems.
I've been working as an apprentice in a fine woodworking & cabinetry shop since January 2016. At it's core, I see woodworking as a unique mixture of planning and execution - a successful end result is the meeting point of these two and, further stated, the better you are at one or, ideally, both the better your final output.
This portfolio intends to provide one with the best understanding of my ability to execute a plan and bring a project to fruition while providing a sense of my problem solving and design style. Beyond a proof-of-work, I've enjoyed the photo documenting side of this portfolio. After all, each project is a little labor of love;) And, maybe someone will see something that catches their eye and gets them thinking about a future project.
I also have some folders of acrylic paintings that I like to do on the weekends or after a long day. You'll find a bunch paintings of 3D objects or abstract settings.
This portfolio does Not include work done through the cabinet shop I'm employed by. If you are interested in checking out those projects please visit jdbcabinetry.com.
All the best,
-Andrew
