A shoe rack of contrasts. It's extremely light but strong (can hold 40+ lbs). Round dowel rods connect with square legs. Functional, yet simple (and beautiful in my personal opinion).

I've made a couple variations of this, switching the 3/4"x 3/4" milled square legs out for thicker ("3/4) dowel rods but personally enjoy the square leg look. It can be easily assembled and disassembled since no glue or hardware are used. Once disassembled a unit could be easily flat pack shipped. Larger shoe racks with more levels or columns could also be made without diverging from it's core design. Finished with Linseed Oil and Howard's Paste Wax.
