Experience Design Consultant
Stockholm, Sweden
Jan 2018 - Mar 2018 (2 months)
Consulting via MEGALOOP AB to TeliaCompany, the biggest telecom operator in Sweden.
Designing innovative experiences for both consumer and businesses in the IOT arena.
I used Design Thinking to drive research in the areas of CX, UX and BX (consumer, user and brand experience) and organised Innovation Workshops with stakeholders, clients, partners and users to map experience journeys, identify pain-points, needs and wishes and generated innovative concepts for both physical and digital products.

Interaction Design Consultant
Södertälje, Sweden
Jul 2017 - Dec 2017 (5 months)
Six months in-house consulting assignment via MEGALOOP AB at Scania.
With digital technologies, IoT and automation being at the front-line of
the R&D efforts of the auto-industry, there are plenty of exciting
innovation opportunities for interaction designers to make a positive
impact with whole new concepts and real world use applications.
As Interaction Designer I applied Design Thinking methods
to conduct research in the areas of Social Desirability (user research,
task anaysis, shadowing, interviews, and user tests for concept validation),
Technical Feasibility (technology research and benchmarking)
and Business Viability (legislation and regulations, business model and
socio-economical trends, market mapping). I developed user journey
maps to highlight design opportunities and extracted meaningful insights
from the research to generate several concepts and develop innovative
in-cabin HMIs and digital products and services for the connected truck fleet.

Lead Industrial designer
Stockholm, Sweden
Apr 2012 - Jun 2017 (5 years 2 months)
I provided Huawei innovation consulting services, spanning across
design research, strategic design, concept design and product development
and engineering. The projects focus mainly on B2B wireless
telecom equipment (radio cabinets, antennas, radio units, small cells),
consumer goods (smart-phones, tablets), UX (OS features) and enterprise
electronics (video-conference systems, surveillance cameras,
servers). As industrial design lead, I created added value in high tech
products by providing the multidisciplinary engineering team with design
thinking, user centred methodologies and industrial design practice.
My designs positively impact the engineering functions of the
products (system, mechanical, thermal, power, radio, PCB...); thanks
to my solid design engineering background, lateral thinking and problem
solving skills I contribute in generating water-proof concepts that
made their way to production, patents and design awards.
My contribution as a studio engineer consisted in generating
the final surfaces for production (using CREO / Pro-E), as well
as proposing very working concepts and prototypes regarding
mechanical ,kinematics, electronics and thermal solutions and
providing the team several options for product architectures,
construction and IP sealing according to the different manufacturing
and assembly technologies used by our suppliers, such
as Injection Molding, Diecasting, Extrusion, RIM, Roto-molding,
Vacuum Thermo-forming and Additional Manufacturing.
Project after project, I embedded best design practices in the RnD
workflow and promoted design culture and design thinking as strategic
assets for the company.

WeKITE.com Founder and Designer
Stockholm, Sweden
Aug 2016 - Jun 2017 (10 months)
offers a unique meet-up function to enhance the safety and social
aspects of the sport. WeKite is a challenginng side-project
and a cross-over of my passion for Kitesurfing and the one for
design. As the founder and UX designer, I took care of managing
every aspect of the project: I conceived the service and
its business model, I designed the product, the brand, I created
the DB, I implemented the content marketing strategy and
took care of content management. I produced extensive and
very detailed documentation of the wireframes, the transitions
and the aesthetic and usability attributes of the App.
I collaborated closely with the developers to ensure the
correct implementation of the wireframes and conducted
extensive testing. At many times, I proposed several workaround
solutions to enable the design meet the technological
requirements of a Progressive WebApp that could
work on both Web, iOS and Android.

Designer & Product Engineer
Milan, Italy
Jan 2010 - Mar 2012 (2 years 2 months)
At Design Group Italia I had the remarkable opportunity to design
exciting products for some of the world’s leading brands
like 3M, ABB, Unilever, Chicco, Beta Utensili, Barilla...
Projects varied from fast moving consumer goods to consumer
electronics, lighting, sporting goods, exhibit design, design
thinking and service design as well as B2B equipment like electric
cabinets, industrial machinery and charging units for electric
vehicles.
Every project posed new and diverse challenges and by daily
confronting with a heterogeneous mix of design professionals
I had a very steep learning curve in every aspect of the design
profession: from marketing and branding to strategic design,
f rom usability to aesthetic definition, from product vision to
concept engineering, from product architecture definition to
detailed design and design for manufacturing.
As a studio engineer in particular, I conceived, designed,
prototyped and engineered several mechanisms for new
products, prepared the final solid geometries for rapid
prototyping, I took care of selecting the real world product’s
material and manufacturing technologies and made
sure that the CAD files and the documentation included
draft angles, injection point positions, disposition of the
mold cavities. I included in the CAD files all the necessary
engineering features, such as constant thickness shells,
internal ribs, snap-fits, screw-fixtures, gasket channels,
part-lines, witness lines, etc...
I kept relations with clients and suppliers and I had responsibility
over project management and deliveries, (which involved
time and activity planning, health-checks, delivery and presentation
to the client and sometimes the set-up and management
of small supply chains for pre-series production).

Industrial Designer and Product Engineer
Milan, Italy
May 2009 - Jan 2010 (8 months)
Straight after my MS diploma, I joined the small team of the startup
brand Sowden, founded in Milan by George J. Sowden
(member of the Memphis postmodern design group of Ettore
Sottsas) to design and develop a large set of cookware, table
and kitchenware.
While Mr Sowden was acting as Creative Director, the team and
I took care of implementing his directions in the design of each
product.
My contribution as a studio engineer consisted in developing
detail designs and specifications and keeping
the relations with our Far East suppliers. I assessed the
new batch of prototypes on a bi-weekely basis, created
reports and made sure to implement all the action points
in the CAD files. The iterationd allwed to verify particular
challenging aspects of the design on physical prototypes,
such as dimensional stability of different geometries in
relation to porcellain’s shrink rates, as well as the functional
aspects of the patented filters, or to verify assembly
tolerances when joining porcelain with metal parts or
technical packages.
In 2010, the brand marketed the first set of products, which
were very welcome by the public and the press thanks to the
crafted design, the technical innovation and the superior perceived
quality, also achieved by carefully co-designing with
our suppliers.

Industrial Designer and Product Engineer
Changzhou, China
May 2008 - Oct 2008 (5 months)
I worked at SoftRay as a IAESTE intern.
SoftRay is a LED lighting company based in Jiangsu, SoftRay is also an official partner of Osram.
I both developed concept proposals to explore new business opportunities for the company within the Chinese market and developed and engineered some light fixtures for the company own production.
Working at SoftRay and deep diving into Chinese culture and society by daily work and life was a unique, exceptional experience.

Industrial Design Intern
Milan, Italy
Feb 2008 - Apr 2008 (2 months)
In my brief experience at Stace ID consultancy, I developed the concept for the Bike Baby Seat that became the dissertation topic in my Master in Design Engineering.
By adopting a User Centred Design approach to product conception, I went out from schools and kindergartens to talk, take pictures and movies of parents and kids using their products.
The empathetic involvement of users throughout the design process led me to a generate User Centred Innovations, that increased the perceived value of the product and its desirability.
