At VIU The graphic designers coordinate and collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to develop and complete various projects. This includes everything from small one off marketing pieces, large projects for recruitment or special events, such as, convocation.

We work from within the Strategic Marketing office to support and develop the visual identity for VIU.

Design and build a weekly 8 page flyer, from initial layout to pre-production. This involved working directly with the client, and coordinating with their staff for content and edits.

While acting as Art Director at the Navigator Student Paper, I lead a team of 2 Graphic Designers, and co-ordinated with the Managing Editor, and other staff writers to organize the content and decide on the direction for each issue. Each issue we worked together to complete the layout, and cover illustration. We also worked with clients to create customs advertisements.

At The Navigator I worked along side an Art Director and a second graphic designer to build a 24 page newspaper every 2 weeks. This would include designing advertisements for clients, page layout work for a variety of sections as well as creating cover page illustrations and full spreads for feature articles
