I was the Deputy Head of the Design and Technology department, teaching primarily textiles and graphics. I also taught product design and art to students aged 13-18yrs. Facilitating young designers to develop skills and use the design process. Good communication with students, parents and other teachers. Excellent planning: always meeting deadlines. Team working: often sharing classes, we discuss and share project ideas. Management role: observing lessons, reviewing and setting performance management targets and support. Good IT skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CorelDraw11. Mentor: to student teachers, new teachers and department team. Flexible: being able to change schemes of work in line with government policy. Budgeting: managing resources and purchasing to a tight budget. Committed and enterprising using CAD skills and embracing the new CAM technology available to raise money for the department. Willing to learn news skills.

I taught all the areas in the D&T department: textiles, food, graphics and product design, covering age 11-16yrs.

I painted resin wildlife figures as an outworker. Although part-time it was essential to meet weekly deadlines time management and self-discipline were the key while maintaining a high quality of workmanship. I was well respected and was often given new pieces to paint with out training. Excellent colour matching and application were paramount.

I worked on a broad selection of design projects including: commercial, public and luxury vehicles, yachts, products, interiors, and graphics, for clients including Nissan, Suzuki, Proton, UMM, Eunos, Bentley, Air 2000, BA, KLM, Midland Metro and P&O ferries.. Mood boards Seat design in fabric and leather. Fabric Design for seats curtains and carpets. Modelling of seats and small interior products. Managing projects. Sourcing &Purchasing studio supplies, fabrics and carpets. Research existing products and colour trends.
