Oct 2016 - Feb 2018 (1 year 4 months)
Assistant to a Junior Daytime and Social Dress division in a fast fashion company that sells to Belk, JCP, Kohls, and many more. I source trims and fabrics and check on eta and POs. I also put in prints for custom Mimakis on different qualities of fabric. I personally get fabric from our sister fabric company. I dye in house for samples both trims and fabric. I also send out fabric/trims for the dye house and oversee all approvals and resubmitting comments. I put together send outs for denim washes and embroideries. We do monthly markets, so I'm used to overseeing many styles and a large sample room team in a fast paced environment.

Daydream Nation Lingerie
Developed multiple lingerie styles for Daydream Nation’s first and second collection, many of which were being sold to Selfridge’s Co. This included sourcing fabric, trim, and hardware, preparing samples, attending fit sessions, creating an updated WIP report, making tech packs with detailed construction and flats, as well as BOMS. This brand focused on the LA made looks, so development and production were all done domestically.
Dream Nation for Top Shop
The junior version of Daydream Nation was created to sell exclusively for Top Shop UK. Was promoted to associate designer handling all styles for this brand. Uk customer brought on new challenges like new computer systems, the metric system, buyer’s design changes, and a tight target price. All styles were made in LA with washes, dyes, screen printing, and embroidery. Handled tech packs, construction, strike offs, fit samples shipment, BOMs. Since this was a new brand, main label, size labels, care labels, and hangtags had to be developed and sampled until perfectly matching the brand identity.
Iron Fist Import Fit Comments
Iron Fist works on a seasonal collection system that deals with all import styles. Due to this, multiple fit sessions were attended with detailed notes. With these notes and additional photos, fit comments were created for the import factories to follow. All new measurements were adjusted on the fit sheet as well as the graded work sheet. Had to communicate with factories and fit adjustment questions while main tech designer was on leave.
