Chris Paton

Christopher Paton has focused his academic career in the specialised fields of physics, robotics and engineering design.

He has undertaken and achieved high standards of qualification in these three main fields of interest in order to be able to invent, design and fabricate unique pieces which meet the very highest standards of modern contemporary making.

His innovative approach, combined with the skills and professional experience in both fabricating and teaching place him at the forefront of his profession.

His passion for continually refining his technical skills and understanding of this diverse range of materials and applications allows him to provide a complete understanding of design processes from cradle to grave, allowing him to initiate, refine, manufacture and finish a wide range of design projects for commercial, educational and artistic purposes, and beyond.

Christopher utilises his understanding of Solidworks on a daily basis throughout various stages of his creative design process, both for professional purposes and for his own personal projects. He is well adept at translating the preliminary sketches or verbal instructions given to him, whether in the context of a professional freelancer, or for one of his many students. He greatly enjoys the challenge of adapting these ideas into fully rendered, high-quality CAD design files.
