Oil and Gas protective glove

Hand and finger accidents are the number one cause of injury to Oil and gas workers, resulting in permanent injury and huge costs to the employers. Current gloves either use PVC bumpers which offer little or no protection or very thick dual density EVA hinders comfort and dexterity. The brief was to develop a protective Oil and gas glove using D3O materials, offering maximum protection whilst maintaining comfort and dexterity for all tasks throughout the day. This included research trips to Oil and gas and fracking rigs to identify what the users needed and understanding the current issues that lead workers to not wearing gloves. The development also required multiple trips to Asia working with suppliers and manufactures to continue to develop and finalise the product before a successful launch with the customer.
