ART+DESIGN
I am an interdisciplinary designer exploring the intersection of art, design, technology, and human experiences.
Personal Philosophy
Taking an interdisciplinary approach to my work makes the final product is more rich with embedded meaning and allows for, despite the heavy use of technology and the machine, an opportunity for the hand of the maker. I investigate how methodical use of technology can join handcrafted objects for the personal environment. The nuances between actions and interactions, the pauses for breath, the organizing of thoughts, these liminal spaces in interaction with one another are what captivate me the most.
Our bodies are containers of data. In our current world storage capacities, capabilities and methods are augmented by technology. A union between digital, machine production and traditional process gives rise to new methods of deriving form from what was previously unseen. I am interested in the abstraction that occurs when the two meet and how that can communicate or obscure the intimacy of interacting with an other.
