Born and raised in a small town in southeastern Kansas, I always searched for a way to find the small and mundane things to be more beautiful than they really are. This, I think, led me to find myself through creativity, either through graphic media or photography. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from Emporia State University in 1998 with a concentration in graphic design and photography. The coursework allowed me to be a more diverse artist, as I experienced a lot of different mediums of which to work with. My career history has also allowed me a variety of experiences that have shaped me as an artist. Art is defined as: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. If the definition of Art can be combined with the appeal of the market, then you can truly consider yourself as successful as a graphic artist.
