Hart Plaza Detroit outdoor amphitheater concept

Hart Plaza Detroit outdoor amphitheater concept - These are some quick pencil sketches of what an outdoor amphitheater might look like at Hart Plaza on Detroit's downtown river front. The design concept and final model were an un-solicited portion of a proposal project in Art History - History of Modern Architecture. The task was to choose one of two major historical monuments in the city of Detroit, and propose either renovation or destruction/reconstruction. Of the two monuments, Ford Auditorium and Lee Plaza Hotel, my project partner and I chose the destruction/reconstruction of Ford Auditorium as an outdoor amphitheater showcasing the music festival atmosphere of the Hart Plaza Detroit riverfront. The instructor, Dr. Catherine McCurrach, asked to keep the model!! Quality!
