1. International teamwork experience
The companies and school I stayed always have designers or clients from different countries. I appreciate that each country or region has its own culture and background that gestates designers’ different thoughts and methodologies in a design project. Through a close working relationships and friendships with them, I have a deep-rooted attitude to open my mind to different ideas and to appreciate the difference harmoniously. From them, I also learn lots of different design methods and knowledge that broaden my horizons in creating my own unique design work.
2. Proactive for opportunities
I believe that one has to be proactive in order to seize opportunities and bring values to a business. At work, I always seek my supervisors’ approval in partaking projects that I could contribute while learning new matters. At school, I always looked for design internship chances in summer vacations. Because of these internships, I could see different design methods and processes, and how these experienced designers created design solutions for products’ issues. I could also attain personal growth by careful and humble observations and applying them at work.
3. Multi-lingual proficiency
Language is the key to the door of different cultures, and that is why I enjoy learning different languages. Also, I am always keeping in touch with my overseas friends, such as the MAU classmates, Panasonic colleagues, DEM Inc. foreign designers, to practice my Japanese and English, as well as to keep abreast of the global design trend.
4. Punctilious & responsible work attitude
I always keep a work diary on my clients’ views, preference and work practice to improve our communication. Due to my punctilious work attitude, we build a good working relationship. I also keep a “to-do” list with detailed information so that I could meet the deadlines even when handling multiple projects at a time. Before submission, I would double check if it is in order.
5. Continuous learning and sharing
It is my interest and habit to absorb new design and tech knowledge by ways of web-surfing and reading design and commercial magazines. If I find any useful information I always keep them in my cloud note and share with my colleagues and friends.
6. Business and marketing thinking
Beside design, I am also interested in products promotion and marketing. Because my parents are businessmen, I can learn some business and marketing skills from them. During my undergraduate duty, I took the “Art and Design Marketing” course. My course project on promoting my own design product received recognition of the renowned marketing company “Pao & Paw”.
