Earned a B.A in Geology at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Did research under the NASA Space Grant Consortium on Martian soil simulant taken from Big Island, as well as working in the Dera crystallography lab identifying client samples using single crystal and powder x-ray diffractometry in conjunction with microscopy.
