I'm a soon-to-be graduated game design student, currently looking to break into the industry in either a Q/A or an internship design position.
The past 3 years have taught me the fundamentals in game design, ranging from stages of development to manufacturing and marketing. However, my primary skill set is in design, specifically narrative writing, and these are the areas where I see my long-term career taking place.
Gaming and writing have always been my primary hobbies, and I jumped at the chance of being able to turn those hobbies into a career, and now, 3 years later, I can see that this is the right career path for me. When I first began my design education I had a love for writing and a love for gaming, now that I'm coming to the end of my studies and have a greater understanding of the industry, I have a love for all aspects of design, everything from documentation to marketing and dialogue scripting.
