Personal Summary:
My name is Nicholas Wilkie and I am a game developer who focuses on environmental art, 3D modeling, and graphic design. Currently 23 years old, I was born in San Diego and have lived in California for my entire life.
Programs I have been using for my current work: Unreal Engine 4, 3Ds Max & Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, and more. Some programs I would like to use more include but are not limited to: Cinema4D, Headus UVLayout, Marmoset Toolbox, and zBrush.
Lately I have been using Unreal Engine 4, Autodesk Maya, and Substance Painter to make high quality content. The majority of my background is in level design, but lately I have been learning a lot of 3D modeling and asset design for UE4. Right now I am working on a game by myself, but this project may be put on hold if I get a job with a game design company. I have many different unique and interesting game ideas saved. I have a very wide range of experience. Level design is my true passion and I love the work that goes into being an environmental artist. Some of the first levels I had ever designed were for RTS (Real Time Strategy) games like the original Starcraft and Warcraft 3. As I grew older however, my focus has shifted away from RTS games and more towards FPS (First Person Shooter) games.
Back in 2005 I got into the Hammer map editor and made maps for the next eight years. There was a wide variety of maps that I created over that time, ranging from wilderness survival maps, to demolition derby's, city role play maps and even a lobby map. Tens of thousands of people have played on the maps that I have created, and it makes me feel happy to know I made something good that people can all enjoy.
