Sustainability

The following project was my College Senior Thesis, a year long deep dive into sustainability and life cycle of children's clothing. For this project, sustainability, to me, ment getting the most life out of a product as possible, and designing for the entire life of the product. I chose a coat for a toddler boy because a coat is one of the more expensive items of clothing that you will buy a child. I wanted to also solve for how fast toddlers grow, durability and style that you want to hold on to. Not only does the coat grow with the child by adjusting in the necessary places, but it is reversible and has a detachable hood for wardrobe flexibility. I worked with a team of engineers to design it using inexpensive, light weight and breathable materials that allow this coat to be worn for at least 3 seasons out of the year, in many weather conditions.
