Soft Goods/ Pattern Making

The following projects are examples of pattern making and soft good construction. textiles present their own set of challenges when designing for manufacturing. Previously Bissell had relied on the supplier to develop a cleaning pad that would fit the product. The microfiber pad seemed to be an after thought. Naturally, as I began to develop such cleaning devices, it only made sense to me to put just as much thought into the "accessories" as the durable itself. I began utilizing my passion for textiles to create patterns and samples that were designed to work WITH the unit and supported the function of the product by having unique functions itself.
I identified our textile needs and researched the material properties in an effort to educate ourselves on quality, testing and best applications.
I also worked with the sourcing team to identify a microfiber supplier that would source all of our needs to drive consistency across categories in quality and performance.
