My name is Jason McGinnity. I was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Washington.
I am a multidisciplinary designer with a background in product and transportation design. I grew up traveling, playing competitive sports, and working customer service and sales jobs. I used those experiences as a platform for learning about people, the way they interact with others, and how they rationalize the purchases that they make.
I thrive in fast-paced and competitive environments. I'm a natural leader and strive to be a catalyst for pulling interdisciplinary teams closer together inside and outside the studio to create meaningful and beautiful design solutions.
I believe people and proportion are the key ingredients to meaningful, lasting design. I love studying people and the products they use. I am quick to establish insights into user behavior and pride myself on my eye for proportion and detail.
After all, "The details are not the details. They make the design." - Charles Eames
I am extremely passionate about design and have been very fortunate to be surrounded by great designers and mentors throughout my time at Art Center College of Design. I recently finished interning and completing a sponsored thesis at Tesla Motors in Hawthorne, California.
I graduated with a B.S. in Transportation Design from Art Center in August 2015.
Outside the studio I enjoy cycling, craft beer, coffee, traveling, and being surrounded by great people.
Thanks for visiting.
