The objective of this research project was to design a product to enhance the whole workflow of distributing and washing-drying food dishes at restaurants and also collecting food residuals and garbage, and reusing the resulting wastewater. The main emphasize of the research project was ergonomics and environmental engineering including recycling processes and eco-friendly design.
The System Dynamic’s approach was employed as the research methodology, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as the environmental impact assessment technique, OWAS methods to study the ergonomic work postures, and finally AHP to rank the final designs based on a number of factors. I modeled the selected design by CAD software and built a prototype for demonstration purposes.
