Junior: Stair Proposal
Recent renovations on campus allowed us an interesting project opportunity- to create a new staircase that leads to the Design School from the parking lot/rest of campus.
This was a group project, and I worked with Edric Jazmin to complete it. Our final project contained several renderings and detail shots, and though the first attempt to build the model was scrapped, a secondary model was built later. This model was 3D printed
The stairs are meant to be an artistic statement, focusing on the progression of the I-beams as they change position to allow for the change of elevations in the runners of the stairs. The final result is not necessarily practical, but a highly sculptural statement.
