Hello, my name is Eric Strebel and I run Botzen Design. I am a industrial designer located in Southfield MI, and I have been designing products for 25+ years ranging from sunglasses for Bauch & Lomb, Traps eyewear, entry level luxury vehicles for Ford, wireless charging PowerMat for Homedics, to magnetic toys for Guidecraft and Personal care products. I specialize in tabletop and handheld products. I do concept design, 2D hand and computer sketching, visualization to production 3D design work. I also teach Industrial Design at Wayne State University and CCS (College for Creative Studies) I am a full service design house from concept to production.
I provide a unique design experience that starts with a your design brief, expands those ideas by generating unique ideas and form solutions for your product. Next we move to the mockup and refinement phase before we get into the final CAD for visualization and production data. Finally the data is used to build a preproduction sample of the product for validation and marketing. I can also assist with BOM and production sourcing.
I have a wide range of production product design experience from hard to soft goods with and with out PCB integration. I use Autodesk Fusion 360 for my CAD work and Blender for my high end visualization. I also have in house rapid prototyping and fabrication capabilities, metal, wood and plastic, including a vacuum chamber and a pressure tank for silicone mold making and short run high quality cast ridged and flexible urethane prototype parts and in house 3D Printing.
You can visit my YouTube page to see me design, sketch, render, make and fabricate.
