Design is in everything we see and use today. It is there to advance, inspire and even excite us. It should enhance, alter and make a contribution to the way we live and show the spirit and personality of the maker. I am a creative, enthusiastic and quick learning person with a keen interest in both aesthetics and function. It is important to me that a product functions perfectly, is easy and comfortable to use and also looks the part to give the user the best possible experience. I am very proficient in SolidWorks (including surface modelling) and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Junior EngineerUnited KingdomJul 2017 - Aug 2017 (1 month)After having completed 10 months at Hardy Engineering Ltd. I was asked to transfer to Kite Power Systems in Scotland full time. This allowed me to complete projects that I had undertaken for them during my time at Hardy’s. This included design work on a 500kW winch and designing/testing of docking/launching methods on kites in low winds.

Drawing Office AssistantUnited KingdomSep 2016 - Jul 2017 (10 months)My role at Hardy Engineering included assisting with general work in the drawing office using CAD packages including SolidWorks, SpaceClaim and DraftSight to create 3D models and engineering drawings. I also liaised with many suppliers, obtaining quotations for parts to be manufactured.

This included campus and accommodation tours as well as communication with prospective students and parents. The role also included providing insight to younger students from both primary and secondary schools, helping them to gain knowledge in design and technology subjects.

CAD OperatorBurnham-on-Crouch, United KingdomOct 2011 - Nov 2011 (1 month)During my studies at secondary school I took part in a two week work experience placement at Hardy Engineering Ltd. This opportunity gave me the chance to create 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks for both real clients and use in the workshop. It also enhanced my knowledge of computer aided manufacture and allowed me to gain skills in wiring and programming electrical products.
