Leon Sampson

HELLO :)

My name is Leon Sampson, I'm 32 year old, although I feel 24 and act 21 unless I'm around elders or people who I respect/admire and then I'm like a 400 year old monk, as in I wont speak unless I've got something of value to add.

I've been working freelance on various projects since leaving university in 2010 where I gained a pretty decent 2:1 degree within Interactive Media. I also became the first and only person within my family to get a degree which made my grandad happy.

I've also had a go at setting up my own business during that time called the Cultcha Lounge which aimed to act as a design hub for student artists and designers. It's intention was to give a valuable platform to promote themselves and their work as well as gaining much needed experience in creating, exhibiting and selling their artwork. It was a 4 part business which incorporated rentable studio spaces, a dedicated gallery, an art retailer and a coffee shop. This experience for me was great although as all entrepreneurs know it's hard to succeed as a business start up, especially in this economy.

I am now looking to work as a designer and gain experience and knowledge which will set me up to become a successful senior designer.

My main influences are, branding, logo's, typography, street art, minimalism, cubism, geometry and surrealism.
