My name is LaQonia Hines, I am originally from Miami Florida, born and raised. I graduated from American Senior High School. Soon after graduation I received a full scholarship to study visual arts with the Visual Arts Conservatory Program (VAHC), at Miami Dade College. A few years later a moved to The Big Apple and studied accessories design at the Fashion Institute of Technology(FIT). I earned a bachelors degree from FIT, and worked in the fashion industry. However, it didn't take long before I realized that the fashion industry was a bit too "corporate America" for me. Therefore, I decided to pursue a career in art education. I have taught art since 2015, for Atlanta and Miami Dade Public Schools, and I currently teach art for Broward County Public Schools. Teaching art has been such an amazing career and my students inspire me to create art! Therefore, I am confident that I will be teaching art for the rest of my life.
