Hi. I'm Katie, a versatile graphic designer who has a knack for reading clients, loves deadlines, and is one of those weird left- AND right-brained people. Well, yeah, as a designer, the right is a bit more prominent, but I have a methodical approach to my creative madness. (You should see me work a ruler!) But I digress. I have an M.A. in Historical Administration, which is a fancy name for museum studies and exhibit design. I also have a B.A. in graphic design.
More than just a graphic designer...
I have been responsible for coordinating printing with both our in-house and out-of-house printers, but I am now the sole contact person for all of our out-of-house printers. I have taken over all layout and design of the Foundation's quarterly newsletter, and I now serve as the contact person for our two web design contractors. I also supervise the Digitization assistant (and am a part of the planning and execution of a grant-funded collections digitization project), and I have had three interns of my own. Furthermore, as budget concerns have caused us to use our contract designers less and less, I am basically the sole graphic designer for the Library, Museum, and Foundation.
