My current role within Tesco Property is in the Continuous Improvement team investigating any and all products and processes seen in stores. This role combines my background in Design with both a passion for interacting with others and the opportunity to provide innovation in the wider business. I manage multiple business critical projects based on both proactive & reactive observations seen in Tesco stores. My projects range from colleague observations, resolving the issues that matter to customers or improvements driven by technological/ manufacturing innovations. I engage with multiple departments, suppliers & store colleagues to ensure the solutions I deliver are the best for the business.

As a Graphic Designer for the Implementation team I made use of the technical abilities I have with the Adobe Suite that I gained during my degree. In this role I produced design documents for new & refreshed stores to create a visual representation of the new store layout. This included Photoshop visuals of particular areas of the store and creating the overall layout view in Illustrator.
Whilst in this role I also created graphics to help promote in house events or competitions that run throughout the year.

During my placement I took on a variety of roles throughout different areas of the Business Unit. My role primarily was to design bespoke server and PC chassis’ based around varying components and space restrictions using both sketches and CAD software. I oversaw production of these designs working with both the metalwork company to produce the chassis‘ and suppliers to order the component stock. I then built the evaluation machines in the company’s workshop to test the design before shipping the final product to the customers.
I also got involved with marketing during my placement through the graphic design of both the stand and advertising posters for a major yearly trade show and worked with a web interface company to design the scoring system for a racing game used on the company stand. My role also included working with the company’s bid team writing tenders for business within the education sector supplying Hardware and Support to a variety of schools and local authorities. I also worked on the company’s dedicated Helpdesk supporting customers with technical issues.
