I am passionate about all aspects of design, especially the initial conceptual design process and am enthusiastic about every project I undertake.
I am currently working at Wavin UK in Doncaster as an in house designer. I have worked on a large range of building products for worldwide markets. Operating along side the factory and tool makers, I have designed products which are functional, sustainable and conform to national standards. As well as my design role at Wavin, I have also worked with other departments such as marketing, producing visuals and animations for averting and promotional material. Other responsibilities include health and safety officer and fire marshal.
I have a degree in Product Design from Nottingham Trent University and was pleased to achieve a very high 2:1 grade. The standard of my work was recognised and I was specifically selected to display it in individual exhibitions such as New Designers; London.
I possess skills that enable me to succeed in a commercial design atmosphere. I can communicate solutions through illustrations and CAD generated models to both clients and colleagues. I work well as part of a team and have provided training to colleagues and apprentices’ on a number of CAD programmes such as Solidworks and Photoshop. I also work well as an individual, given project briefs to which I can provide several solid design solutions, ranging for straight forward effective design to blue-sky concepts.
