Researched and designed a high rate shear fixture, using Solidworks & SpaceClaim, to attach to the existing drop tower in order to obtain new material property data. Quasi-static, constant strain rate, tensile testing, using an Instron machine, was done for rate correlation comparisons. Both project were related to the material properties of thermoplastic composites.
