I am a fashion designer, native New Yorker, foodie and dreamer.
My journey into fashion design began as a kid. I started sketching simple little ideas
which grew into more complicated designs and eventually would lead me to FIT where I
studied fashion merchandising as well as design. I first realized my business ambitions
when I sold a small collection of scarves I created to
a small consignment shop in Williamsburg Brooklyn. After a long and arduous road I
finally saw my dreams become a reality when I was given the tools to launch my very
first capsule collection.
Still I felt like a fraud and couldn't bring myself to label myself as a designer. That
truth just seemed so far away. But launching my capsule collection forced me to
realize that I was a professional and most importantly I had a voice in fashion that
deserved to be heard. For me at its core good design should be evergreen.
The fashion we create today should stand the test of time.
Trends are fun, they keep fashion interesting- but for me they aren't the driving
force behind my creations.
I've always admired the timelessness of designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Dior,
Ralph Lauren, Chanel and Carolina Herrera to name a few. They've mangaged to cultivate
collections consisting of pieces that will never feel dated. I love how they've each
managed to combine art and practicality into stunningly, chic creations and I aspire to
do the same.
