A post-graduate Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge and programming skills. Awarded a Masters with Distinction in Intelligent systems and Robotics and BEng (Hons) in Automotive Engineering. An advanced user of SolidWorks 3D CAD, MATLAB and Arduino web editor and experienced in multiple programming languages and 3D printing.
A motivated and adaptable engineer who is equally capable of working in a design or hands-on engineering environment. He has a good understanding of a wide range of general engineering principles and has also developed specialist knowledge in the field of robotics and AI. He has a proven track record in theoretical research and has recently submitted a scientific paper based on his MSc research into Intelligent Systems. He can learn new concepts and skills quickly and applies an analytical approach to problem solving.
He has excellent communication and leadership skills which have been demonstrated in an engineering, academic and sporting environment. His communication skills have been further enhanced by working for a year in Japan as a teacher, where he learnt conversational Japanese and subsequently received a level 5 certificate of proficiency.
His passion for robotics also extends to his own spare time. He has built numerous robotic projects in his home workshop exploring such topics as tele-presence, neural networks and animatronics. In addition to this, he has formed his own combat robotics team that have entered and won fights in the 12kg category at combat robot competitions.
He is a former full-time judo athlete, who is now a senior coach at one of the UK's top, elite judo clubs, in his career he has achieved a top three position in the British rankings. His time spent in the sport he has learnt how to lead, motivate and get the best out of those around him.
