I work at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS II). NSLS II will provide extremely bright x-rays for basic and applied research in biology and medicine, materials and chemical sciences, geosciences and environmental sciences, and nanoscience. I work on procurements, assessments, writing and editing procedures, travelers and ECNs. Along with IT, I create custom workflows for managing internal reporting tasks. I serve as QA adviser to Front End and Insertion Device teams.

Designed and developed office seatins for the North American market. Dauphin is a German based company with manufacturing locations in New Jersey and Montreal. As the sole designer/engineer for Dauphin North America, my responsibilities included assessing the North American market and recommending new products. My focus was on "soft seating" for reception areas but I also supported the ergonomic seating program. I produced concept sketches, prototypes, shop drawings, product specifications and product branding. Sourced new suppliers both in the US and abroad. Negotiated pricing and managed quality assurance for new suppliers. Traveled extensively to Europe and Asia for supplier visits and corporate meetings. I also provided engineering support such as BOM creation and maintenance, ECR/ECN, configuration control, production engineering, trouble-shooting, technical writing and illustration to support the ergonomic seating program.

Fairfield Medical Products was a small manufacturer of custom-made medical gas, electrical and equipment management systems for hospitals. I managed research and development of all new design and re-design of medical equipment. My responsibilities included: conducting market research through focus groups and sales force input, creating design specifications and scopes of work and managing industrial design consultants as well as an in-house design staff of three people. The design staff was responsible for the creation of shop drawings, product specifications and documentation. We successfully launched new core product lines resulting in improved product performance, ease of manufacture and installation, and increased sales. I also managed all compliance related issues and testing related to UL lisitings, NFPA, NEC and all local jurisdictional codes. All design work was performed in AutoCad.
