I was hands-on in copywriting and art before I got my graduate degree (MS - Integrated Marketing Communications) from the Medill School at Northwestern University. After working for The Ford Motor Company, Ogilvy & Mather, and Sam Beeson Design, I had the opportunity to return to the auto industry as a journalist. That's as good as it gets for a car buff. I bridled my enthusiasm (came to my senses), to go back to real work.
I have worked for some of the best people in editorial (WIlliam Jeanes, Bob Brown) and won a national award. I was even submitted for a Pulitzer. I never considered it a criticism, that my editorial had the energy of advertising.
From the projects where I was involved as a Project Manager, Account Executive, Marketing Director or VP Marketing: I have Case Histories. I am a modest individual who is happy to contribute at any level. And I can lead perfectly well, when I have the opportunity and the authority. Creative people recognize me as one of their own- and they know I have their interests at heart. That's what makes a leader.
More recently, my creative energies have been focussed on my manufacturing project: the first production bubbletop for an automobile- the Mazda Miata
