I am a BSc (Hons) 1st Class Graduate from the University of Strathclyde specialising in Product Design and Innovation.
My Skills
I am eager to join the job market in full and start my career. I have had experience in the job market through a summer internship lasting 10 weeks with the university researching user interface testing, I have been in employment consistently for the past 6 years throughout university and gained experience in customer relations, best practice, and managing staff. I am aware of the importance of a company brands and professionalism in an organisation.
A particular strength of my studies has been that I have developed my skills via two different universities. At Glasgow Caledonian University my ‘Product Design with Multimedia Visualisation’ course specialised in design for the web, print, and advertising material. I’ve been passionate about digital design for many years, but becoming familiar with the adobe Photoshop and Indesign really honed my skills to a professional level. Strathclyde University in turn has taught me how to move through a design process, including several different techniques for the evaluation of concepts and outcomes. I have extensive background in manufacture, business, engineering, and design. The course is dedicated to producing legitimate business ideas and the key components to let us work in industry efficiently.
Personal Attributes
I would say that taking a gap year before my studies, travelling alone to Australia, New Zealand and Japan, has given me an edge over my peers. Working in some of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world I gained an understanding that many of my colleagues have not yet taken the chance to. When I moved between universities, it was because I recognized how I wanted to progress. What appeared to be setbacks at that time gave me the chance to learn crucial skills like adapting to new environments, to relearn habits I had already set, and to forge future opportunities.
