The idea behind this project was to develop a product for the emerging market of artisan coffee in the workplace. It should increase the lifestyle satisfaction of employees in an office environment by reducing stress through promoting social interaction.
The problems with existing designs are; poor beverage quality, maintenance, and risk of RSI. the proposed solution is an innovative take on creating a machine that is user intuitive whilst including a viable business model; to maximise on repair, recycling, and re-manufacture.
The key areas of this solution can be summarised as; modular design to facilitate maintenance, universal design through combining tactile and automatic features, and design for the user y creating a personal space to lower stress; facilitating increased productivity.
