As a designer, I take my inspiration from ethnic motifs that have been applied for centuries in the traditional arts, such as tapestries (chilim), knitting and embroidery. I incorporate these patterns in a fresh, new way to engage today’s viewer in the conversation. As ancient motifs continue to change form over time, my intention is to participate in that evolution: to add my own perspective while enhancing the usage of ethnic motifs in contemporary product design.
