The S 333 toboggan: the cantilever eperience in the snow
“Thonet winter sports” look back on a long tradition since “Thonet toboggans” were first made more than a hundred years ago. The early sledges were made of bentwood, tubular steel is now used: beautiful and modern in keeping with the best Thonet tradition. The S 333 toboggan boasts a consistently minimalist design and is an impressively elegant and timeless piece of sports equipment. The S 333 was inspired by the S 33 tubular-steel-chair. This high funktional cantilever-chair was design by Mart Stam in 1926 at the Bauhaus time.
The minimalist shape and minimum use of materials in conjunction with a clear, lightweight appearance is perfect. The cantilever-seat is working like a damper. The toboggan is stackable for car-transportation and storage. to transport the S 333 up the mountain, it is to use like a backpack.
