I am Guylene Solon, an artist born in New York, world traveler and
I am crazy about everything that has to do with the arts.
This is photography about exploration, the positive and negative realities of culture, about the earth, the jungle, the mountains and the cities of exquisite architecture, about the people and their many colors and how I've learned from them and how they learned from me.
Although a native New Yorker, I speak English, Italian and Spanish fluently and after living & working in 9 countries and have traveled to over 15, I have engaged not only with different cultures but with HUMANITY itself!
I was born to travel. I feel this certainty when I am winding down the mountain of San Cristobal De las Casas and the scent of vegetation enters my nostrils, as the landscape reflects in my eyes. I feel close to god in these moments. Who can deny the richness of this earth even with all its problems? Naturally it holds a beauty that man can't even understand. I don't document war photography or political conflicts, I leave that for another photographer, I am searching to express something entirely different. Images to make you ponder parts of the world that you have never imagined existed."
I love creating texture in graphic design, filming for commercials, photographing for travel companies and exploring the richness in each medium. I currently work as a freelance designer for clients in the USA, Mexico and Central America.
As a child, I was fascinated with travel photography, always loved painting , film and jazz music, but it was only until 2002 that I started my path as a professional. Studying fine arts & photography at New School University-Parsons School of Design and later on at Pratt Institute in New York. Since then I have delved into learning practically all aspects of the arts including contemporary dance, classical African music, product design and music production.
Developing a vibrant platform for me to communicate with the world.
