Las Mandarinas
Yucatan, Mexico
I've traveled throughout Mexico, reflecting the many colors, landscapes, architecture and the faces of the Mayan People.
Capturing the essence & learning the language, I realized that there is definitely no place like Mexico. The people have extended their arms out to me, welcomed me into their homes, treated me like family and have taught me so much. Mexico had been my home for over 5 years. I thank you Mexico for everything you have given me, and all the love you've shared.
It has changed my life.
The photographs contains a surrealistic effect created by shooting with cross processed chrome film; intensifying the color temperature to capture not only what I saw, but the heat that I felt in the Yucatan.
Emphasizing the rural architecture and a fusion of the past and present.
The fruit, "Las Mandarinas"
they say is the prawns of the Yucatecans
