Gabriel is currently a Master's graduate student at Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN) where he is pursuing research in Chicano Art politics and Muralism. Gabriel has begun painting murals and showcasing art within the Northridge community and the University setting. Previously, Gabriel has shown Artwork in the Santa Barbara and Goleta community where he received his Bachelors Degree from UCSB. He has led various mural installation projects as a teacher and mentor to youth in the community in places like Ortega Park, La Cumbre Jr. High, Franklin Neighborhood Center, Isla Vista, and Carpinteria. As a Ventura County local, he has painted murals in Santa Paula, Saticoy, Oxnard and participated in art shows and pop-ups in Ventura as well. He has been invited to participate in ‘Live Art’ showcases for various community events such as Earth Day in Isla Vista, I’Madonnari at the SB Mission, and Ventura Art & Street Painting festival. Art Shows at UCSB, 805 Boba, Del Pueblo Cafe, Casa de la Raza, A Street Community Garden, The Lab 805, Eastside Café, CSUN, and other community galleries. Gabriel’s Hope is to teach, mentor and foster a generation of critical thinkers through the practice of Art.
