Eric Gross

I am trained in print graphic design, and am currently working as a graphic design instructor at Southwest Technical College. I am also working as a freelance graphic artist, and digital illustrator. Creating logos, illustrations and promotional material for various organizations, and business'.



I have a deep knowledge of graphic design and how it relates to every company or client individually. As well as continually keeping up with current trends and classic elements. I am proficient with a working knowledge of Adobe Suite, including but not limited to: Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, and Premiere. I also have a very strong understanding of the MAC computer environment, as well as an understanding of printing and pre-press preparation. I have a strong understanding of Typography and application there of. I enjoy finding new and innovative ways to use type, and type families. Currently I am teaching a typography class, which has given me even more of an understanding and respect for a lost art form



I have a long running respect for drawing and illustration as well as most of the fine arts. Drawing and illustration has been a passion of mine, but a challenge on how to relate hand drawn images to a digital environment. I have created curriculum and teach a drawing class currently at Southwest Technical College regarding just this. I developed the class to reflect the integration of drawing and illustration in the graphic design process. I teach students not only the basics of drawing, but how to use and incorporate sketches, light sources, composition, stylization and perspective.



I pride myself in being a very hard, dedicated and reliable worker. I have an incredibly good personality which I learned to prefect during all my years in the bar industry. I was forced to learn how to present myself, and opinions to large masses in every situation imaginable. Both with management of a bar, and teaching students. I have great communication skills, and have the ability to talk with anyone, at any time. I have also gained a very good knowledge of customer relations, and dealing with every situation placed in front of me. I have over come various design problems from, un-informed, or un-artistic clients, to missing fonts. I have the ability to adapt to any situation, and resolve it with the best possible solution for all parties involved. I have an ability to break the issue down to where it can, or could be understood for solution.
