I believe that I have a lot to offer in terms of skill, personality, style and interest.
Creating fashion forward designs including key trends for each season. I enjoy researching and developing unique collections through planning and researching. Also having the advantage of being able managing the whole product development life cycle from conception through to production.
Project/ Design Phases
1 – Brand Assessment – We prefer to meet the client first to discuss the project, but this is not always possible. In this case we communicate by telephone, skype or email. Starting by discussing your ideas as well as looking at the potential consumer and the overall branding of the company.
2 – Concepts & Initial Designs – We start with pages and pages of hand drawn sketches before we make the more detailed technical designs. This enables us to get our ideas down quickly on paper. We then work with the client to pick the strongest designs and make more detailed hand drawings of these.
3 – Final Designs and Spec Sheets – Once final designs are approved, we generate illustrator files and produce the spec sheets. These are the technical instructions for the factory to make the shoes. Some clients require us to work on this stage only, as they already have firm ideas of the product/s they want, and can provide sketches.
4 – Colour Palette – The goal behind this stage of the project is to research into colour forecasts and trends, as well as focus on best selling colours for the season we are designing for. We then take this research and work with the client to create a colour pallet that suits them.
5 – Prints – We believe that prints can add an extra dimension to any design project, we can offer print recommendations to fit within the colour pallet and also enjoy creating custom prints for our clients. There are unlimited possibilities of colour, size and placement
6 – Materials – With an extensive knowledge of footwear materials we are able to advise on different options and in some cases source the material suppliers for you.
7 – Range Plan – This part is hugely beneficial to ensuring you are creating a cohesive collection. We focus on each separate design, working out each production cost by laying out all the components needed. This is essential when setting your prices and budgeting your production costs.
