Plaper Mark II - Redesigned
Plaper was initially designed using paper with a light source placed within to bring out the qualities of the paper used. However, for Plaper Mark II, Basswood was used as an alternative material.
As wood is rigid, the patterns that were laser-cut on the individual segments allowed greater flexibility for the medium on top of making use of the wood grain direction. The form of the segments were carefully designed to relieve as much stress as possible when the segments were being bent.
Plaper Mark II, was designed to be suspended / wall mounted or placed flat on a table-top.
