Drink Stablizer

Project:
To use the concept of how human joints work and apply it to a concept creation.

Joint Chosen:
Craniovertebral joints from the cervical vertebrate

The joint permits movement between the vertebral column and the skull.

The ligaments in the spine support and reinforce the joints between the vertebrae. The atlas and axis in particular work with the ligaments to move the neck. The atlas and the occipital bone form the atlanto-occipital joint, which allows neck flexion. The atlas and axis form the atlanto-axial joint, which allows head rotation.

The atlanto-axial joint is a compound synovial joint. It is also a pivot joint.
The dens articulates with the facet on the atlas, as well as the transverse
ligament which articulation provides the head with approximately 50% of
its movement

Product:
Drink Stabilizer

The joint used counters the forces from the x, y and z-axis (Moment). Prevents drink from spilling by stabilizing the cup in the event someone pushes you from any side.
