I am an inspiring graphic artist with specialties in 3D modeling, digital fabrication, and computer animation. I currently work part time in the Digital Fabrication Studio at the University of Michigan while I study Art and Design there. I have freelanced several projects as well as interned at Retail Network as a computer animator. With only a few years under my belt, I come into the field with fresh ideas and a hardworking attitude to prove myself and show that my work defines who I am.
Being young in the field, I love experiencing new things and sharing my own ideas to fellow workers. One of my greatest attributes is my quickness to learn. I pick up on things very fast and use the ideas I just learned to push myself and see what else I can master. I work well both independently as well as with a group. I strive to show what my artistic abilities are capable of and love receiving feedback, which helps improve skills and also allows a connection to build between artists. A previous professor always told me, "A project is never done. You just run out of time." I believe this strongly as there is always room for improvement. All projects have deadlines and I make my work the best I can. I do not stop improving my work until the time is up to prove that I am serious about what I do.
I attended Baker College of Auburn Hills for Computer Animation and earned my associates degree. I was on the Dean's List five times and on the presidents list of Winter 2012 with a 4.0 GPA. My final GPA of 3.8 allowed me to graduate with the honor of Magna Cum Laude.
I am attending the Penny Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan for a Bachelors in Fine Art and Design.
I am currently pursueing new opportunities and I can be reached either through this profile, by email at dcaldw04@gmail.com, or by phone at (248)755-7549.
