After working for Lapso as a Design Consultant for several months, they wanted me to do a collection of my own that represented my impression about their studio.
The studio was founded by two outstanding professionals, one is an Industrial Designer and the other one is a Graphic Designer. They created Lapso because they found a common ground for their passions about these two disciplines. And that is what I wanted to capture with this project.
The “O” Chair is part of a collection of furniture pieces which are inspired by typography designs.
The objective of this project is to use the letters from the word “LAPSO” to design a set of 5 furniture pieces that will look like each letter from a front view. In order to achieve my objective I had to study the rules of typography by which a letter becomes readable, and use those rules in the process of industrial designing. Quite an adventure.
